Once we left Burnt Well and got the doors sealed we stayed on the road. The next attractions we the border checkpoint at tje CA border and trying to get a glimpse of the Salton Sea. Weenjoyed the mountain views outside Palm Springs and the novelty of the various wind farms. The trip was uneventful until just outside Valencia. There we encountered several waves of traffic. Not too bad. One slowdown required a skillfull 5 lane change to be in the correct lane to head North. Then we saw the one car rollover and a guy driving with a rug wedged under his car. There is construction near our campsite and the final blocks of navigation were tricky (ask Jason about the Caddilac...). At 3:38pm we arrived with Marv and Nate right behind us. We are setup in a good family oriented site. The brisket is warming and we are all very anxious to dive into the protien. Nate has been to this event before. After the first day the events as a full 12hr day. We are bracing oursleves. Also bonus points to Mark, he just finished his first witness to an ex-motorcycle racer. For those that are interested, the paintings have arrived and transferred. Also note screen shot from my phone and count the number of accidents that await us-prayer works. Love to you all. We will continue to need your prayers, this will be rigorous to be sure...
Thanks for the update! Typical Cali with the accidents. Jason said the traffic wasn't bad :-) Is that your dash cam suckered to the windshield??
