Providence

As I write this it is 5:38am in Benson, Arizona. We have a pretty tight schedule that was under some jeopardy, but providence made known to us the mercy that is always around us.  On our last update Mark was under the tutialage of our commander Jason (Go Navy) for his training on the helm of the Prevost.  That was going very well, when our commander had to excuse himself to spend some quality time in the aft room of the Prevost.  I moved into the right seat and caught some photos of the variegated mountains ahead.

Heading down one of the mountain pass' Jason was restored sufficiently to provide Mark with supplemental training on using the transmission for braking during long downhill sections.   The vantage point allowed us to see the dusty haze that awaited us.

The road levelled out and we rolled into El Paso.  Mark was doing well, except for his newfound dislike of HID headlights on bright???

For the next 590 miles across two state boarders, Mark held the helm.  We had various chats on fuel mileage theology, and what, in fact was The Thing?

Some quick updates to our navigation calculation and fuel pricing on Waze convinced us of the need to stop for fuel.  The tactical plan at this point was to continue on and get past rush hour in Phoenix.  The parking lot of the Loves has these updated LED parking lot lamps.  Two of them were flashing at seizure inducing stobe rates. Once fueled we noticed the very welcoming and open, pull-through parking slots.  We were convinced and stopped for the night.  Cornelius, Lammy and Panther were tucked in.  By 12:30 local time we were working on sleep.

I slept like a stone.  Mark had to decompress from the white line fever and was restless for some time.  Jason kept thingIngram about the sound of the generator; 'is that muffler mount loose?'..  Eventually sleep captured us all.

The next morning Jason checked the tie downs for the car and aired up the right front tire on the car.  We are on the road now with the sun just starting to reveal the days light behind us.  Jason and Mark are discussing singing hymns at Yosemite forest and the surprising scope of the Grand Tetons.  A blest day even with the ache we have in missing you all.
